Bringing classical art into the 21st century

We see a lot of different genres and subjects in the artwork that we get commissioned - but nothing quite like this!

Lothlenan, who is based in Canada, told BuzzFeed News that they are a "huge nerd" when it comes to anime, video games and cartoons, and that the idea first came to them while studying "Mr and Mrs Andrews" by Thomas Gainsborough.

The artist chooses their favourite pieces and reproduces the images digitally and each piece takes around half an hour - which is an impressive feat!

A lot of our commissions are changed in some way - whether it's a slight colouring of a dress, adding something to the background or completely changing one of the subjects.

We work closely with the artists to make sure every detail is correct, which means lots of close reviews by both ourselves and the customers to make sure we are both 100% happy with the painting.

Before committing to a painting, it sometimes help to see what the changes will look like once it is all together, so we offer visualisations of each piece before going ahead with the order. This means you can change very small details before the painting process begins.
