Very little is know of Bosch's life or training, but it estimated that he was born in 1450 in 's-Hertogenbosch, south Netherlands.
His most famous triptych is the The Garden of Earthly Delights (c. 1495–1505) which depicts three stages of biblical being; the Garden of Eden, present life and the Last Judgment.
His work differed from other great Netherlandish painters of his time as he finished them with rough surfaces (impasto painting) whereas others used layers of varnish to hide brush marks to suggest their paintings as more nearly divine creations.
His death was recorded in 1516.
