Impression Sunrise by Claude Monet
When our client approached us wanting a "Top Quality" copy of the iconic and ground breaking painting Impression, Sunrise by Claude Monet, our first task was to research and locate a true source copy. There are many different copy versions of this painting in existence, some with garish oranges and blues.
On the right is our reproduction compared to the original Impression, Sunrise, chosen from our library of over 9,000 paintings. The colours of the reproduction are slightly enhanced over photographs of the original, as the age of the painting has caused the original to fade slightly over time. When commissioning a reproduction we can work towards either an exact copy of an original work, or change certain colours or features as the customer requests.
In consultation with the client we ensured that we found exactly the right copy for him which was extremely true to the original.
Framing the masterpiece
As well as our close attention to detail and accuracy, another aspect of our services that impressed our client is our ability to offer a great range of frames and Fine Art Trade Guild certified framing to museum standards.
It is so important that the frame chosen is sympathetic to the painting and carries the level of gravitas to show it off to its full potential. In this case the frame was also required to reflect something of the original.
Our client really appreciated our expertise and experience in being able to suggest and provide a fabulous complete solution.
We stretched the canvas on to an English oak stretcher frame and mounted it in a classic, elegant swept frame which was handmade in the UK. Our client was extremely happy with the outcome and we are delighted too!
