This commission came to us from Finland after a customer had seen some of our previous projects online. He already knew exactly which painting he wanted, so we were able to start the process very quickly and choose a reproduction artist to suit the project - we have specialists for different genres and subjects.
Our customer had found an image in which the colours were more vibrant hopefully closer to the how the original painting would have looked when first completed. As with all of our commissions, we work closely with the customer and the artists throughout to ensure it is progressing as planned and if there are any details of the painting that need changing, we can communicate efficiently.
Clovis is a particularly important figure in European History as he was the first King to unite all of the Frankish Tribes under one ruler, and forever change what was the Roman Empire.
After much resistance, he was persuaded by his wife to be baptised on Christmas day in a small church in Reims, in which a statue of himself and Saint Remigus can still be seen today. His baptism led to widespread conversion among the Frankish people which created a unification of religion over France, Belgium and Germany.
The genre of History paintings such as this one often have a large number of subjects to best depict a pivotal moment in the narrative, but they can vary greatly in painting style, colour and technique.
Barton Galleries has worked on a number of History paintings commissions over the years, and for limited time we are offering 10% discount on reproductions of famous historical scenes. For example, this 1604 painting The Somerset House Conference or this dramatic piece by John Singleton Copley
Due to the size of this painting, the customer decided to get it stretched and framed in Finland to save on postage costs, so we carefully packaged the canvas in a sturdy tube to ensure safe delivery.
He sent us over a photo once it had arrived back with him after framing and we love it, the bespoke gold frame looks great and fits in with his interior perfectly.
We ship both tubes and framed paintings all over the world and our dispatch team are dedicated to making top quality bespoke packaging for each order.
Please get in touch today if you are interested in commissioning a painting reproduction for yourself, or as a gift.
